Woman reports sexual assault: At about 7 p.m. May 22 in the 200 block of Morris Avenue South, an officer contacted a known subject. The officer recognized the female subject and took her into custody for a confirmed warrant. While transporting her to jail, she advised the officer she had recently been sexually assaulted. Due to this new information, the female was taken to the local hospital for examination. The female stated that the assault happened on May 19 while she was sleeping in a tent when the male suspect entered her tent and sexually assaulted her. She was familiar with the suspect and had a first name only. Because the exam was going to take several hours, she was left at the hospital, not booked on the warrant, and the investigation will be forwarded to the investigations unit for follow-up.
E-bike robbery: Just after 9:45 p.m. May 22 in the 1200 block of Southeast 170th Place, an officer was dispatched for a recent robbery. The juvenile victim stated that while he was waiting for his friend in a parking lot, he was robbed at gunpoint by six unknown juvenile males, all wearing black ski masks, and his electric bike was stolen. The victim stated that two of the males pulled out handguns, but did not point the weapons at him. Later, a witness called the officer with a slightly different version of the event, which did not involve any weapons being seen, and the bike was left behind when the suspects could not figure out how to operate it. The case will be turned over to investigations for further review.
Parking spot argument: At about 5:39 p.m. May 23 in the 17000 block of 108th Avenue Southeast, officers were dispatched to a parking lot for a report of an assault. The male victim stated there was an argument with a female over a parking stall, and she hit him with a pen in his chest. The officer verified there was a mark left on the man’s chest, and the victim declined medical attention. The suspect was located inside the store and admitted to an altercation with the male. Based on the investigation, the officer believed there to be probable cause that the suspect committed the crime of fourth-degree assault. The suspect was cited, and charges were referred to the Renton prosecutor’s office.
Brandishing gun: At about 11:47 p.m. May 23 near Southeast Royal Hills Drive and 116th Avenue Southeast, officers were dispatched to a reported threat with a weapon. The male reporting party stated that a female suspect in a vehicle was following him and that she had pointed a gun at him. The victim stated that earlier, a female in a black Chevrolet Camaro was traveling behind him on Main Avenue South, approaching the intersection of South Grady Way and Benson Road South, when she began flashing her brights at him and followed closely behind him. He pulled over and allowed her to pass him. The vehicles ended up crossing paths again as he approached the roundabout of Puget Drive Southeast, 116th Avenue Southeast, and Southeast Royal Hills Drive. As the vehicles passed each other, that is when the female driver pointed a gun at him. The suspect and her vehicle were located by officers, and the suspect was interviewed. She stated she thought she was being followed and felt threatened when she pulled her gun and displayed it at the male. Based on the statements made during the interviews of the parties involved, the officer determined there was probable cause to arrest the female suspect for second-degree assault, and she was booked into King County Jail. The case was turned over to investigations for follow-up.
Threat with a firearm: At about 8:42 p.m. May 25 in the 12200 block of Southeast Petrovitsky Road, an officer was dispatched by phone to a report of a threat. The victim stated that around 7 a.m., she was outside of a residential unit when a male came outside with a handgun and began to threaten her. The victim stated she does not know the individual personally, but recognized him from the community and has never had issues with him before. The victim stated she did not want the officer to come to the location, but would follow up and go to the station the following day to finalize her report and disconnected the call. The officers’ attempt to finish the investigation and reconnect with the victim was unsuccessful. Based on the information so far, if validated, it would determine if there is probable cause for second-degree assault for the male subject. Case will be turned over to investigations for further review and follow up.
