Intoxicated woman drives into construction site | Renton police blotter

Man assaults woman: At 5:27 p.m. June 4, in the 300 block of Renton Way, officers responded to an assault. The victim was shopping when she noticed a man staring at her. The suspect then struck the victim in the face. The suspect fled the scene and was not located after officers checked the area.

Man walking naked in the street: At 6:33 p.m. June 4 in the 900 block of North 1st Street, a Renton resident called to report a man walking in the street naked earlier in the morning. On several prior occasions, the reporting party saw the same man walking nude along the roadway and contacted police for the third time. Officers have probable cause to arrest the man for indecent exposure.

Copper wire stolen: At 8:58 p.m. June 4 in the 15700 block of 152nd Avenue Southeast, officers were dispatched for reports of fiber optic cables that had been cut. The officer contacted the reporting party over the phone. The victim indicated he was dispatched to the location to fix a cellular tower owned by the company. He reported that there was approximately $3,000 in damage to the tower and $1,000 in copper wire stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run: At 7:50 p.m. June 5 on South 21st Street and Benson Drive South, an officer was dispatched to conduct an area check for a suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run. The officer located the vehicle and driver matching the description in the 700 block of Rainier Avenue South. The driver was detained. The witness positively identified the suspect, and she was booked into jail.

Intoxicated woman drives into construction site: At 8:40 p.m. June 5 in the 200 block of Rainier Avenue South, officers were dispatched for a car into a ditch at a construction site. Upon arrival, officers had the driver exit the vehicle, and noticed a bottle of liquor inside. The officer conducted a field sobriety test on the driver. She failed the test and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
